This whiskey tenders a mark for her to find. So I can walk her home and we “co-wreck” for the night. All these drinks make for bitter lips by tomorrow, and for all the more a bitter kiss goodbye. I try to govern this city while she just sits overlooking the water. What is it gonna take? Let’s keep pushing together until we both break. I can’t remember promises more than she forgets, subjecting myself to nightmares without rest, of all these ghosts in my head. She keeps running up that hill. She realized she keeps running up. I can’t keep up.

From Boston With Love

You know it's been quite some time since you have been around,
but I know it's not because you haven't tried. While everyone sees you much more than I, the Jersey shore seems empty all the time. You always sign your cards, "From Boston with love." You know it's kinda hard when you're the girl I'm thinking of. In time, I think you will see where I am coming from. Even if our chance together has gone along. Back before our lying neighbor had led you on. Now I wish I had what it took to turn you off. You used to sign your cards, "From Boston with love." But now I'm moving on, learning how to forget about you.

Goodbye, my Jimmy Jones
I'm sorry, I've got to go
If I stay here, I'll lose my mind
So I'm never coming home
This town, it knows my business
This town, it knows my shame
So I'm going back to the ocean
Where no one remembers my name
Well, I moved away when Amelia never came home
She was still in town
But I don't think she slept alone
And I was tired of seein' her face
Though I never saw her again
Every time I'd leave the house
I'd see a ghost in the street or my day dreams
We painted this town red
Got caught by the cops once or twice
And I told her parents they could go to Hell,
And I took her in with me
But she couldn't run from her problems
And she couldn't run from her family
When she finally left
I shouldn't have been surprised by the relief
I packed one bag for the train
(Lord, I end up in such strange places)
Bought a ticket back to the coast
(Lord, I end up in such strange places)
I wasn't gonna tell anyone that I was leaving
(Lord, I end up in such strange places)
But I stopped to write my only friend a note, and it said
Goodbye, my Jimmy Jones
I'm sorry, I've got to go
If I stay here, I'll lose my mind
So I'm never coming home
This town, it knows my business
This town, it knows my shame
So I'm going back to the ocean
Where no one remembers my name
